No need to be scared of halal meat. Don’t worry, halal meat in no way funds or sponsors ISIS and neither are any of us halal meat-eating muslims pledging allegiance to them by eating this healthy meat. Halal meat is simply cut in a way that provides minimal physical and emotional pain to animals (hence, no other animals must be present while the butcher slaughters their friend). Draining the bad blood (preach, T-Swift) from animals rids them of many diseases that we may potentially ingest otherwise.
Halal meat is required to be slaughtered for consumption, which means you can’t just pick up roadkill somewhere and serve that on a platter. And don’t fear the “prayer” that the butchers read. It’s not some kind of black magic voodoo. They just bless the meat by saying “God is great” and then thanking God for his wonderful creations and the food he has provided us. It’s kind of like saying grace, but to bless the entire process of making the meat until (and after) it reaches your super markets.
Being scared of halal meat makes you as ridiculous as this woman here:
Happy Monday everyone! Travel safe to school and work, and don’t drown in sorrow because of stress. Watch a video and take a break once in a while! Superwoman knows just how to make everyone laugh.
I hope the first few days of school haven’t been a total drag! I started fresh at the University of Houston after transferring this fall, and I am loving it so far. There are so many opportunities to explore and take advantage of, and so many influential people to meet. But I only have three years left, so I won’t let any opportunity go to waste. And neither should you! Turns out, everyone (okay, most people) is nervous to talk to a stranger. If you don’t make the first move, neither will they. The cell phone will help them pass by, but you should be better than that. These communication skills will help you in life, I promise (but then again, I am still young. What do I know about life?). Learn to step away from your phone, because this addiction may cost you a job if you can’t keep your hands off of it during business meetings.
Anyways, I have a new video out today! I hope you enjoy. Please give it a thumbs up, share, and subscribe!
Simone Manuel has made a remarkable achievement this year after becoming the first African-American woman to win an Olympic individual swimming event. What is amazing is that I went to high school with Simone two years ago. She graduated a year before I did. Although I did not personally know her, the fact that a normal teenager from a community I am from was able to reach such great heights, shows that any amount of dedication and perseverance can help you achieve your dreams.
It’s a shame that many undermine her strenuous training and stamina by placing her on a pedestal for being a “black swimmer” who won a gold medal. I mean of course, it is a step in the right direction, just like having our first black president, and maybe someday we may have our first female president. It’s okay to acknowledge it once. But giving her so much attention solely on the fact that she is black, seems like a slap in the face for the work she has done, just like any other competitor.
This is by far one of the funniest Jimmy Kimmel videos I have seen. I am pretty good at hiding my laughter but I probably would have given in just about at the very end, just like Kimmel did. Plus, who can resist letting out a chuckle when the little munchkin is guilted into saying things like that. Hope everyone has a great week! I will try not to die a little when I go to school on the first day tomorrow.
This gives me so much nostalgia. When I was 10, I once convinced my younger friend that I could give her the haircut of a lifetime. Oh boy, was it a haircut she will never forget in her life. I hope this video makes your week more bearable!
Here it is! The back to school fall lookbook everyone has been waiting for. I spent forever filming this in the heat so I hope it was worth it. Let me know what you think in the comments below. Check back in a few hours and I should have all the outfit links in the description box. Please give it a thumbs up! Subscribe if you haven’t!
I recently had the privilege of meeting renowned Australian TED Talk speaker, Yassmin Abdel-Magied. Looking at that gorgeous feature photo of her, what kind of person do you think she is?
An oppressed woman trudging through the world wearing colorful scarves to alleviate her every day pain of being a woman? Is she a musician? An artist? An activist?
Well, back to school season is just around the corner. Some of us (admit it, ALL of us) are dreading going back to school. The only fun thing about it is the friends. Here is a little adorable video from our cat friend, Michael, about some of his school pet peeves (pun intended). The last one is way too real.
P.S. I am still trying to figure out if the cat is a robot or not.
Most of us know what Buzzfeed is. The one site and YouTube channel that has some of the coolest quizzes, listicles, and videos I have ever seen. I have to admit, they are very addicting sometimes. The moment I get on, I have to allocate an entire hour for it, because I know I won’t stop browsing. That’s what happens when videos like that are in reach
and accessible to all with a click of a button and social media. Anyways, I was browsing quizzes, and I came across a quiz about my fate in the Hunger Games. Of course, I had to take it. I took it with a friend and we filmed it together. Check it out!
I am actually thinking of applying for an internship at Buzzfeed. Let me know if you know anything about that. You can find the quiz here. Let me know what your results were in the comments of my video! Subscribe and give it a thumbs up!
