Picnic Blankets and Pina Coladas

Fashion & Beauty

Fall is in the air and new styles are trending. Shopping for chic but modest outfits that don’t break that bank is like searching for a needle in a haystack. It’s vexing to scour heaps of clothes only to find one embroidered long sleeve top that ends up costing $50.

So I have resorted to online shopping and I don’t mean on the sites of mainstream retail stores. I’ve recently been introduced to Boohoo and Shein which, to be honest, I was a little skeptical about. Online stores don’t give me the option of returning clothes at the physical store and quickly picking out an alternative.

I recently received my first Shein package, and so far, every single item has been a perfect fit. I haven’t washed any of them yet so I’ll save the reviews for another post.

This past Friday, I went to my sister’s birthday dinner where I ordered a virgin pina colada. I can honestly say it was a much needed refreshment after a long day at the county fair. I donned one of my Shein favorites, a cute bell-sleeved, gingham top adorned with floral embroidery paired with black skinny jeggings and silver oxfords. Yes, it’s an entire look with every trend listed above. I basically look like a picnic blanket placed on a bed of roses. If that’s the look you’re going for, here’s where you can get it.

2016 Best & Worst Makeup Products| Happy Holidays

Fashion & Beauty

Hello everyone! I hope you are all getting ready for the holidays, because I am definitely excited to venture the town for Christmas lights and decorations. This year has been very interesting to say the least.

From my blog taking off and creating a YouTube channel, to having Donald Trump elected as our president, this year has been a bumpy ride with some exciting twists and turns along the way. I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and an even better New Year. I might just sit this New Year’s Eve out and relax in my Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fleece onesie, exactly as I did last New Year’s Eve. Talk about déjà vu. Expect a 2016 memories and important events post from me in the next few days.

What are your plans for the holidays? Will you be traveling or relaxing in the comfort of your bed? Let me know in the comments below. Please share my video with friends and tell them to subscribe!

P.S. On a completely unrelated note, if you are able to, please donate as much money as your heart desires to the Islamic Relief USA  organization so they can use our generous donations to provide humanitarian aid to active emergency countries including Syria and Yemen, among many others. We may be enjoying our holidays gifting our loved ones, but this is your chance to use that holiday spirit to help out the children who don’t have access to food, shelter from harsh weather, and medical care. You don’t have to be Muslim to donate to this organization. All you need is the heart to care about humanity. Loads of love to you all!

Around the World and Under the Stars

Joy. Ecstasy. Happiness. Glee. What is this delicate emotion that several words have been coined to describe? Happiness is a not just a state of mind, but a way of life.

“I don’t fix problems. I fix my thinking. Then problems fix themselves.”

Louise L. Hay

Happiness comes hand in hand with not only appreciating the little things, but also trying different things. Take out 15 minutes from your day and just take a stroll outside your home or go for a relaxing drive. Go somewhere you haven’t been before, like a community event or a festival. Involving yourself can really make you perceive beauty in a different light. I did it and I will be forever grateful.

Recently, I came across an advertisement for the Magical Winter Lights festival in Houston, Texas. I googled it and with one look at their promotional video, I was astonished. Apparently it is the largest lantern festival in the nation. I HAD TO GO.

The festival consisted of grandeur lantern displays of famous landmarks, with a section for each continent (except Antarctica, obviously). It has been a dream of mine to travel the world someday. Someday. Seeing the lantern monuments illuminated in the night sky under the constellations was absolutely enthralling.Photographs and words don’t do justice to the beauty of it all. For those of you who want to go, it is open till January 10, 2016 so hurry! Check out some shots I took and see for yourselves:
